Smart Innovation and Growth Strategies: Elevating Your Wellness Practice

Nov 12, 2024

In this episode of the Wellness Center Creators podcast, hosts Anna Rudel and Kendall Hagensen dive deep into the concept of innovation and growth in wellness practices, offering a fresh perspective on what it means to develop and expand a business.

The conversation challenges the traditional notion that growth necessarily means physical expansion. As Kendall emphasizes, "Growth doesn't have to mean bigger physically. It doesn't have to mean a larger team, it doesn't have to mean more locations. And growth within what you've already built can really take on more of a form of innovation or efficiency."

The hosts explore various paths to growth, including systems optimization, service expansion within existing teams, and operational efficiency improvements. They share personal experiences and insights, with Anna highlighting the importance of systems: "The systems thing is really critical... I'd put the systems in place not for any other reason other than to make sure that my anxiety around making sure that those things are covered and they're done efficiently."

One of the most valuable segments focuses on managing transitions during periods of change. As Kendall notes, "Transitions are different from change. And when we are the creator and the creative person thinking through this new idea and we're going through the transition of it, we've kind of gone through that whole process, and being ready over here for the change. But we often leave our team behind in that process."

The discussion also covers practical aspects of growth, including the importance of clear communication with team members, understanding different comfort levels with change, and implementing new systems thoughtfully. They emphasize the need to bring team members along in the process rather than simply implementing changes without proper preparation and support.
