Integrating Mind and Body: Dance Movement Therapy with Keli Laverty

Jun 12, 2024

Today, we have the pleasure of exploring the concept of balance through the transformative power of dance movement therapy, guided by the incredible Keli Laverty. In this episode, we are joined by Keli Laverty, founder of Be Rooted and the Be With Body Experience. Keli, a board-certified dance movement therapist with over 20 years of experience, shares her journey from childhood dancer to a pioneering therapist helping women reconnect with their bodies through movement.

"Dance became my safety place, became the way that I really felt the most myself."

Keli talks about the challenges of balancing an analytical mind with a love for dance, and how this led her to integrate psychology, neurobiology, and movement into a holistic therapy approach. She explains the importance of dance movement therapy in addressing trauma, eating disorders, and the disconnection many women feel between mind and body.

"I really love bringing women back to their bodies and helping them find that connection to themselves through movement and dance therapy."

Discover how Keli's unique approach helps women move past overthinking and reconnect with their bodies, and learn about her innovative programs, including one-on-one sessions, intuitive movement classes, and a structured group program designed to bring lasting change.

Keli also shares valuable advice for new dance movement therapists and the importance of embodying and advocating for their unique therapeutic identity. Don't miss this inspiring conversation packed with insights on the power of movement and the human experience!
